With the establishment of Manuel Antonio National Park in 1972, the people of Costa Rica decided to preserve for future generations one of the most beautiful and bio-diverse areas in the world. Although it is the country's smallest national park, the stunning beauty and diversity of wildlife in its 4.249 acres is what makes this place a must see for every visitor in the country.
Manuel Antonio offers a charming combination of rain forest, beaches and coral reefs. This beautiful park is home to sloths, three species of monkeys (white faced, squirrel, howler), iguanas, and millions of colourful little land crabs. Some of the trails afford spectacular ocean views.
Our naturalist guides will take you on an amazing jungle experience. The goal of the Aguila Tours team is to share and teach you about Manuel Antonio’s best nature secrets. Walk for about 3 miles on easy trails searching for unique animals and plants. During our tour you will learn about the symbiotic relationship between many animals and plants. Let us help you get your own ¨national geographic¨ type photos with your digital camera through any of our top of the line spotting scopes.

I did this tour in June of 2007 with Juan. What a delight! He is a great tour guide and one I do highly recommend. We are from the U.S. and appreciated his fluent english and kind manners. He also is a very skillful guide which make a big difference because many of the animals I would have never seen on my won. His fee is well earned and my wife and I had a great time!
ReplyDeleteOur family just returned from a 12 day trip to Costa Rica. One of the highlights of our trip was our private tour with Juan at the Manuel Antonio National Park. We were nervous because all the guidebooks say to go to the park early in the morning and our tour began at 1pm, however, it was an incrediable experience! The park was not very crowded and we saw an amazing amount of wildlife! Bats, butterflies, Jesus Christ Lizards, iguanas, grasshoppers, treefrogs, whitefaced monkeys, squirrel monkeys, a sleeping sloth, a moving sloth (wow!), deer, crabs, birds and even a huge kind of rat (we were told that this kind only ate the good stuff!)If it wasn't for his knowledge and expertise we would never have seen most of the things we saw. Juan even provided time for us to swim. He was conversational and good humored. He was a pleasure to be around and we were very happy that we had him as a guide. We would highly recommend him.
